ANNIE JACOBSON
About Me.
Ten was a big year for Annie.
It was the year her parents finally let her have a dog, and it's also the year she finally got to see Elphaba fly. After listening to the cast album as much as her family would let her, it was then, in the upper uplands of the mezzanine, Annie knew for sure she had to spend the rest of her life as an artist.
From that moment on, she devoted everything to forcing her dog into photo shoots, dragging her parents to countless Annie auditions, figuring out how to read sheet music as the only kid whose parents actually let her quit piano, and, finally, convincing her voice teacher to work on The Wizard and I.
Annie has always been determined to turn her dreams into reality.
That same passion, drive, and grit led her to her first professional job in the world-premiere stage production of "The Witches of Lublin" alongside four-time Tony nominee, Tovah Feldshuh. It also helped guide her through a, now infamous, improv session during her time as "Man in Chair."
Ultimately, Annie longs to tell stories that shape the heart of who we are and leaves folks with a fuller soul (yes, she really talks this way). But, more than anything, Annie longs to use her voice, in a multitude of ways, so ten year-olds all over the world know they too can "defy gravity."
